Already scheduled to host one of the United States’ three group stage games in the 2026 Men’s World Cup, FIFA announced on Wednesday that Seattle could host one of the USMNT’s knockout stage games as well. In order for that to happen, the USMNT would first need to finish first in their group and then win their Round of 32 match before returning to Lumen Field on July 6 in the Round of 16.

Pacific Northwest has potential to shine at 2026 World Cup
With 13 games between Seattle and Vancouver, we have a chance to leave a positive legacy.

Seattle was already slated to host a total of four group-stage games, as well as one Round of 32 and one Round of 16 match. Rounding out games in the Pacific Northwest, Vancouver will host five group-stage games and two knockout-stage matches. If Canada wins their group, they could end up playing both their Round of 32 and Round of 16 matches at BC Place.

In addition to adding details to the schedule, FIFA also unveiled a list of 24 potential home bases for the 48 national teams. Although the Seattle area did not have any facilities listed, all indications are that Longacres and potentially VMAC remain in consideration.
