LAFC 3, SOUNDERS 0: Denís Bouanga got out on the break and did what he does. Kim Kee-hee seemed to have poked the ball away, but it came right back to Bouanga who smoked his volley past Andrew Thomas.
LAFC 2, SOUNDERS 0: Jeremy Ebobisse got behind the defense on a ball from Igor Jesus, spun Jon Bell and beat Andrew Thomas to the near post.
LAFC 1, SOUNDERS 0: Cengiz Ünder ripped a shot from about 25 yards out that seemed to take a slight deflection as Andrew Thomas couldn't quite get a handle on it.
LINEUPS: Both teams are rotating their lineups with the Sounders making eight changes from the weekend and LAFC making five.
The Seattle Sounders face LAFC tonight with both teams playing as well as they have all year. The Sounders are 4-0-1 in their last five, while LAFC is 2-0-3. Beyond their records, the underlying numbers say they've been two of the best five teams in the league over the last five weeks or so.
One wrinkle to this game will be fixture congestion. The Sounders played on the road on Saturday and have another road game this coming Saturday, while LAFC played on the road on Sunday with another game next Sunday. Conveniently, both teams play their biggest traditional rival on the weekend.
While it's unclear what LAFC will do as far lineup rotation, the Sounders will likely swap out several players in the attack. Jesús Ferreira will likely get a look at the No. 10 with Osaze De Rosario getting his first MLS start at the No. 9.
